RSDSS Services and Support to Low-Performing Districts and Schools

The Regional System of District and School Support(RSDSS) office, working within the regional structure, is mandated by the federal law, No Child Left Behind, to provide services to Title I schools in the following order:

1st priority - those Title I schools identified as being on Corrective Action (no Adequate Yearly Progress for four consecutive years),

2nd priority - those Title I schools identified as being in Year 2 (no Adequate Yearly Progress for three consecutive years) or Year 1 (no Adequate Yearly Progress for two consecutive years) of Program Improvement, respectively, and

3rd priority - those Title I schools needing assistance achieving the requirements of No Child Left Behind. (section 1117.a.2)

RSDSS staff can provide a myriad of focused services to assist districts and schools at each of these levels. Such technical assistance includes:

assistance with revision or redesign of the School Site Plan in alignment with Title I specifications,
consultation with district level or school personnel on resources and constructs that can be created or reconfigured to improve student achievement in the schools,
professional development structures that address data analysis and usage; Standards alignment to instructional materials, strategies and/or assessment; instructional coaching and other topics aligned to data-identified student learning needs.
budget analysis and alignment to instructional priorities,
assistance with parent notification for school choice, transportation and supplemental services, and
School Support Team interventions.

Our staff has content area expertise and experience in group facilitation and effective school improvement strategies. Our collaborative networks can link districts and schools to resources and expertise from across the region, state and country.
