The NCLB Review Process was developed in partnerhip with the Los Angeles Unified School District's Program Improvement Unit. It is based on the WASC accreditation criteria for use with all Program Improvement Year 2 schools in the Los Angeles Unified School District. The process is designed to address the district No Child Left Behind requirements to support these identified schools. These WASC criteria were adapted to address the specific needs of elementary, middle and high schools, and are the basis for the development of the NCLB Self-Assessment tools.
The self-assessment tool's guide questions include cross-references to the following; Academic Program Survey, Modified Consent Decree, Single Plan for Student Achievement, Small Learning Communities, WASC and Williams, in order to begin to provide continuity and bring alignment to the schools' various action plans.
